As she rushes through the rain, Riley hears screeching brakes and suddenly everything goes dark as she is hit by a truck. She awakens in a foreign land, greeted by a lemon-colored sun and a sky of pale lilac. Realizing she's not on Earth, Riley wonders how much worse things can get. She soon learns she is on the planet Sacral, where the psychic inhabitants are determined to rid themselves of the non-psychic Mutes. In order to save the dying magic of Sacral, Riley is determined to uncover the truth about the imposter on the throne and support the rightful king.
